Solar Hot Water Systems
Flat-plate and evacuated-tube solar thermal for sustainable hot water.
Overview
What it does
Flow Dynamics supplies solar hot water systems across the UAE, where solar irradiance averages above 2,100 kWh/m² per year, among the highest in the world, making solar thermal one of the most cost-effective hot-water technologies available in the region. The range covers flat-plate and evacuated-tube collector fields, thermosiphon rooftop kits for villas, and engineered forced-circulation plants for hotels, labour accommodations, and industrial process water. Collectors are SRCC / Solar Keymark certified for Gulf UV and temperature exposure.
How it works
The working principle
In a thermosiphon system, a collector mounted below the storage tank heats water that rises naturally into the tank, no pump, no electronics, no moving parts. In a larger forced-circulation plant, a differential controller compares collector temperature to tank temperature and starts a circulation pump whenever the collector has useful heat to give. A glycol primary loop transfers the heat through an indirect coil in a solar-ready calorifier. An auxiliary heat source, electric, heat pump, or boiler, tops up the tank automatically during low-sun periods.
Applications
Where it's used
Typical installations across the UAE and wider Gulf include:
- Villa and residential rooftop systems
- Hotel and resort central hot water
- Labour accommodation and staff housing
- Schools, hospitals, and public buildings
- Industrial process water pre-heating
- Swimming pool heating

FAQ
Common questions
How much of my hot water can solar cover in the UAE?
With irradiance above 2,100 kWh/m² per year, a correctly sized system delivers the majority of annual hot-water energy at near-zero running cost, with an automatic auxiliary source covering low-sun periods.
Thermosiphon or forced circulation for my project?
Thermosiphon kits suit villas: no pump, no electronics. Hotels and larger plants use forced-circulation collector fields feeding a solar-ready calorifier through a glycol loop. Scale decides.
How is a solar thermal plant sized?
Send us the application, airflow or demand figures, and any consultant specification. Our engineers reply with a defended selection, datasheets and submittal documentation. Sizing is always confirmed by an engineer, never by a web calculator.
